Sphygmomanometers typically measure blood pressure, which is produced by the contraction of the heart and changes continuously during the cardiac cycle. b. Manual measurement/automatic measurement/continuous measurement: Manual measurement is also called single measurement. This means that the monitor performs only one measurement at a time. An automatic measurement is one measurement performed during a selected period. The time interval can be set to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 90, 120, 240, 480 minutes. Continuous measurement means that after being activated, the monitor will continuously take rapid measurements within 5 minutes. Continuous measurement is effective for monitoring changes in blood pressure.
