The defibrillator connects AC to charge the capacitor board, just like charging a mobile phone. Two electrode boards for defibrillation are connected to the capacitor board, and then the electrodes are charged through a switch. When defibrillation is needed, the electrode board is connected, and the charge gradually moves towards the capacitor due to the presence of battery voltage until the voltage on both sides of the capacitor reaches the same level as the battery. When the charge no longer moves, the charging is completed and the electrode board is placed in a designated location. At this time, the patient acts as a resistor R. Press the discharge button, and the stored energy in the capacitor is released in a short time, forming a strong DC current, completing a defibrillation.
For capacitors, the voltage will decrease as the stored charge decreases (U=Q/C; U=voltage, Q=charge, C=capacitance), while the patient's resistance remains basically unchanged, and the current will gradually decrease (I=U/R; I=current, R=resistance).
