Melt blowing is a conventional fabrication method of micro- and nanofibers where a polymer melt is extruded through small nozzles surrounded by high speed blowing gas. The randomly deposited fibers form a nonwoven sheet product applicable for filtration, sorbents, apparels and drug delivery system

Nonwoven fabrics are products made of parallel laid, cross-laid or randomly laid webs bonded with the application of adhesive or thermoplastic fibers under application of heat and pressure.
Nonwovens can be made absorbent, breathable, durable, flame resistant, heat sealable, light, lint-free, mouldable, soft, stable, stiff, tear-resistant, water repellent if needed. Obviously, though, not all the properties mentioned can be combined in a single nonwoven, particularly those that are contradictory.
 

 
How to store the melt-blown fabric?
Melt-blown fabric is the key material of medical mask production. Currently, it is a very popular material, every mask manufactory must pay attention on the preservation of melt-blown cloth. To prevent damage caused by improper preservation.
The filter performance of melt-blown cloth with an electrostatic layer can reach 95%, and the filter performance of melt-blown cloth without an electrostatic layer can only reach 35% (also what we call non-woven fabric).
1. The humidity environment will impact the generation and loss of static electricity. The water vapor in the air will convert the electric charge on the melt-blown from positive into negative ions, and the loss of positive electric charge will affect the filtration efficiency.
2. For melt-blown cloth storage, needs to keep the warehouse temperature in between 18-25 Celsius degrees, with a dry environment, and avoid direct sunlight.
3. Once the melt-blown cloth has been produced, it should be packaged immediately, and stored in a dry condition, the vacuum packaging would be perfect. The water vapor in the air will be converted from melt-blown into negative ions, which will affect the filtration efficiency. Do not contact with external moisture air, to avoid dampen and contaminated.
4. In addition, the melt-blown cloth from different suppliers try not to store them together. Otherwise, they will cause affection to each other, and the electric charge on the melt-blown will be neutralized.
