Product Application:
Freeze-drying is a low temperature dehydration process that involves freezing the product, lowering pressure,removing of ice (moisture) by sublimation, transitions of the substance from solid state to vapor without passing through the intermediate liguid phase. Freeze drying results in a high qualitative product because the entire process is performed at low temperature and pressure by applying vacuum, below triple point. The original shape of the product is maintained and quality of the rehydrated product is excellent.
The application range of vacuum freeze-drying technology is very wide. As long as it is water-containing, non-toxic and non-corrosive substances, it can be made into freeze-dried products by using freeze-drying technology. Almost all agricultural and sideline products, such as meat, poultry, eggs, aquatic products, vegetables, fruits, etc., can be made into freeze-dried food, seasoning, instant food, etc. At present, the most widely used freeze-drying technology is the food industry, biopharmaceutical industry, medical industry, and health care product industry.
Brief description of freeze-drying process:
(1) Pretreatment process
For different materials to be dried, the pretreatment methods are different. According to the characteristics of raw materials, corresponding processing methods are adopted
(2) Pre-freezing process
There are two methods of pre-freezing: vacuuming, self-evaporative freezing and freezing with quick-freezing equipment.
(3) Sublimation drying
Sublimation drying is carried out in a vacuum device, so it is very important to maintain a suitable vacuum during the sublimation drying process.
(4) Post-treatment process
Vacuum freeze-dried food is generally porous and loose, with a large surface area, easy to absorb moisture.
