R30003(Co40CrNiMo) is well known for its excellent resistance to corrosive environments, elevated temperature resistance and high strength. And it is non-magnetic. Its mechanical properties are often superior to stainless steel and other nickel alloys. There are arguments that in some (medical) applications, it offers several advantages versus titanium and thus considered a replacement of titanium.

• Exceptional resistance to corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and hydrogen embrittlement.
• Good fatigue strength
• The absence of aging in service.
• Non-magnetism.
• Capable for application ranges of temperatures, from liquid helium (-269 ° C) to around 500 ° C.
• Perfect passivity in contact with human tissues.
• The ability to increase the strength of parts by hardening after forming, leading to strength levels unattainable with other materials.
• The absence of brittleness at low temperatures (no transition temperature).
• A maximum servicetemperature of approximately 100 ° C higher than for stainless steels.
• Significantly superior corrosion resistance than stainless steels containing molybdenum.
• A very high elastic limit combined with a high elasticity modulus in tension and in torsion, allows the storage and rapid release of large
• amounts of elastic energy.

So there is no surprise that R30003 is considered a reasonable material to be used as diaphragm in a Diaphragm Valve. To make it better, Xunshi could now offer Elgiloy strip with roughness of  less than 0.1 μm. This makes it possible that our Elgiloy diaphragm to find a place in semiconductor industry.
