What is a Tilt and Turn Window
A tilt and turn window is double action. It can tilt inwards at the top, like a hopper, or swing inwards pivoting on the hinges at one side. The tilt position provides healthy weatherproof ventilation. In the turn position, tilt and turn windows are like casement windows, swinging the whole sash in.
The 2 main differences between tilt turn windows and regular American ones is that tilt turn windows have a different opening mechanism and that they use steel core framing.
