A split case pump is a centrifugal pump that features two single suction impellers or a double suction supported between bearings. The casing is split axially with opposing suction and discharge flanges. This allows for easy maintenance on the pump.
Horizontal split-case (HSC) pumps are used in most industries around the world to move large quantities of fairly clean fluids—usually water—at low to medium pressures. HSC design geometry poses numerous advantages and disadvantages for users.
