8 To 18GHz 10 Channels Switch Filter Bank
Switched Filter Banks consist of a combination of switches and filters integrated in to a single module. These usually consist of an input switch followed by a filter for each channel of the switch, followed by an output switch. Integrating filter and switch components in a module eliminates transitions between circuits, providing for optimal matching which results in better insertion loss, flatness, VSWR and overall better performance of the device. The use of internal channelization also allows for optimum rejection and isolation. Since all the components are integrated in to a single module, Switched Filter banks are compact and save a considerable amount of board space.
Switched Filter Banks are usually built to spec, based on a customers requirement. The filter topologies used are usually based on the required performance level i.e they can use combline filters, lumped-element filters, SAW filters etc. Other components such as drivers, control logic, amplifiers, attenuators can also be used in these modules to meet the performance criteria of the required application.
