Working principle of metal tube rotor flowmeter
Special Notes:
1.When the Instrument installing, you must sweep the pipe welding slag clean !
2.When the Instrument installing,the measuring tube must be with the pipe in the same axis and
the sealing gasket inner aperture should not be less than the measuring tube inner aperture.
3.When the anti-corrosion type instrument installing, the Flange tightening the bolt torque
should be moderate,which avoids broking the seal surface.It is not allowed to weld the
connection flange after installing the instrument, or it will destroy the instrument .
4.In order to work accurately and raliably,the magnetic coupling position of the instrument’s
converter should not have magnetic particles to absorb in the surface.
5.Far eastone type instrument,in order to reach the best electromagnetic compatibility, its shell
need connect the ground reliably.
6.The instrument with the function of communication, when using it, please try to consider the
effect of around the electromagnetic interference to the instrument. Therefore, please try to use
the special cable.
7.When the instrument with LCD display measures high-temperature medium, you should use
the thermal insulation material to isolate the flow converter and the mesauring nounmenon
properly .
8.When the electrial wiring, please confirm whether the wire and connection terminal are
connecting reliably.
9.In order to avoid the rain entering into the flow shell, please handle the cable joint waterproof
problem properly.
10.If the measuring medium contains conductive magnetic particles, it should be equipped with
a magnetic filter at the entrance of the instrument,if it contains the non-conductive magnetic
particles, it should install filter screen.
31.Overview
BTLZ series intelligent Metal tube floater flowmeter is a variable area flowmeter which is
based on the floater position measurement.It adopts full metal structure, which is with the
features of small volum, low pressure loss , big range ratio(10~20:1),optional transmitter with
HART communication function and installation and maintance convenient.It is widely used in
various industries under the complex and bad environment, which is measuring the flow
and controlling the process to the small flow and low flow velocity, and all kinds of harsh
conditions of medium.
BTLZ series intelligent metal tube floater flowmeter series products, according to different
users’ requirements and different occasions, there are many kinds of measurement form for
users to choose; According to the output form,there are on-site instruction type, far
transmission type, control alarm type; according to the requirements of explosion-proof,it can
be divided into three types: the common type, intrinsic safety type, isolation and
explosion-proof type.
BTLZ series intelligent metal tube floater flowmeter adopts the international advanced
Honeywell without contact and no hysteresis detecting changes in the Angle of magnetic field
of magnetic sensor, and with high performance MCU,which can realize LCD display:the
instantaneous flow, total flow,loop current.environment temperature,damping time,small
signalremoval.Optional 4~20mA tranmission(with HART communication),pulse output, high
and low limit alarm output function,etc,the type of intelligent signal transmitter has high
precision and reliability,which can fully replace the same type imported instrument, and it also
has high price performance, parameter standardization online and power failure protection,etc
features.
BTLZ series intelligent metal tube floater flowmeter’s design also takes into account the
users’requiremnts of the process flow ,there are five installation types to select: lower inlet on
the installation type,upper inlet under the installation type , side in side out installation, bottom
in side the installation type and horizontal type installations.
2. Structure and Principle
BTLZ series intelligent metal tube floater flow meter is made up of two parts:
(1)Sensor - measuring tube and floater;
(2)Signal transmitter - indicator;
The sensor has four connecting liquid material :stainless steel, Hastelloy, Titanium, stainless
4steel lining FEP; The users can choose different touching liquid material to meet the needs of
the proof pressure of process and anti-corrosion of medium according to the requirements of
the different process pressure and corrosive medium.According to the different measurement
requirements, the users can choose different indicator combination in their selection to realize
the different measurement requirements. The specific indicator form and its corresponding
function, please refer to the indicator table.
Flow rate is measured by the indicator in the transmitter through the coupling of magnetic
steel feeling floater’s position changes to complete the flow indicator and signal remote
transmission. When the measured medium flowing through the measuring tube from bottom to
top, the floater by gravity, buoyancy and fluid velocity to the floater’s vertical upward thrust are
balance,floater will be relatively static in a certain position, the position changes with the
floater and taper pipe ring gap area and fluid velocity, the position of the floater is
corresponding to the size of the measured medium flow.

A variety of optional instantaneous flow and total flow unit, after the the unit switching, the
range is automatic conversion.
2.The upper can be switched on the display: the instantaneous flow , loop current, percentage of
the instantaneous flow and cumulative small signal removal, damping time, the current
environment temperature, and the pointer rotation angle,etc information, and it also can display
the commonly used symbols and engineering units, which will not affect the discharge total
flow and instantaneous flow simulation of the display at the time.
3.The LCD displays the flow range of the instantaneous flow , according to the measurement
medium at the scene, it can be corrected .
4.Double LCD display’s power consumption is microamps level, which meets the requirements
of the instrinsic safety explosion-proof.
5.Accuracy: <+/-0.5%, the temperature drift: <+ /- 0.1%/ 10 ℃
6.Perfect power-failure protection function, when the power failure, it can save the current total
flow (the total flow of sampling period is 0.3 S), and applied the advanced six levels of data
backup mechanism, which makes the data loss impossible.

8.Transmitter can output: two-wire system, 4-20 mA signal, and has nothing to do with the
LCD display function whether it has or not.
9.Support the battery power supply function,it uses different types of rechargeable batteries
according to different application, and it can be normal work 3 to 12 months at one time
charging.
10.It is no need to open the cover, it uses the magnetic pen operation way and also keep the
normal buttons. (it can be made according to customers’ requirements)
11.By HART protocol and the upper computer software or hand-held communication. Upper
computer connects with the meter by using HART modem, which can dynamically monitor the
instantaneous flow and total flow, loop current , percentage of the instantaneous flow,etc(only
for two-wire system,4-20 mA instrument with HART communication function)
12.By HART protocol, hand-held or upper computer software can be used to the operation of
the flowmeter for some or all of the configuration (only for two-wire system 4-20 ma
instrument with HART communication function)
