SS Sheets 10/8/6/5mm Stainless Steel Plates 4X8 Hot Rolled Sheet 316 316L 316Ti ASTM/AISI/SUS
316Ti (UNS S31635) is a titanium stabilised version of 316 molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel.
The 316 alloys are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than the conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as 304.
316Ti is essentially 316 with the addition of some titanium(Ti) to reduce the risk of losing corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone.
An alternative to prevent this, is to reduce the carbon(C) level, which results in the grade 316L.
Some consider 316L stainless steel to be a better choice in some cases, but the fact that 316Ti incorporates titanium can improve mechanical strength.
This is especially true when cooking at high temperatures above 600 degrees C.
