Description:
garage door springs counterbalance the weight of the door to make it easy to open and close. They serve the same purpose of counter weights used to balance doors in centuries past and in many doors today.
the length of garge door springs,exactly speaking,the number of coils is one of the main factors to determine the spring rate of garage door torsion spring,or the torque of torsion spring in other words,so we add a process to adjust number of coils specially with cutting by punch and make sure each spring have the same coils with drawing.
when torsion springs are wound, they grow in length. Since both ends of the torsion springs on steel rolling doors are secured and cannot move, the spring cannot grow in length. There are two options for fixing this problem. You can stretch the spring yourself with a come-a-long before you secure it to the shaft, or your can purchase pre-stretched springs. This allows the coils to be gapped and to lose most of this gapping when the door closes.
