Plastic Structured Packing Classification
Structured packing is formed from corrugated sheets of perforated embossed metal, plastic (including PTFE), or wire mesh. Where Plastic Structured Packing material's heat resistance reaches 100°C for PP and 150°C for PVDF. The packing sheet may be perforated with small holes to increase mass transfer efficiency. If the separation requirement is not high, it needs no perforation to increase sheet stiffness.
Plastic Structured Packing Application
Plastic structured packing can increase production and efficiency, and reduce energy consumption. Suitable for large volume towers and easy foaming systems. Widely used in absorption and analysis processes, low-temperature absorption, water washing, and dust removal device are most widely used in gas purification, gas solution preparation, waste gas exchange, and heat exchange process, and their maximum temperature resistance is 150 ℃. Plastic structured packing has strong resistance to hydrochloric acid and alkali, and can completely replace industrial ceramic corrugated packing, which is a creative revolution in the packing industry. Defects of industrial ceramic corrugated packing: large accumulation ratio, difficult filling, small specific surface area, easy breakage, short service life, etc.
It is widely used in the operation of absorption and decomposition absorption devices, especially in the production process with heavy liquid load and high operating pressure, such as (HCl) and (H2SO4) production, degassing CO2 and H2S from natural gas, drying chlorine, liquid production, waste gas purification, and decomposition absorption deoxygenation devices.
Plastic Structured Packing Specification
The corrugated plate is installed vertically and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the container. The direction of the corrugations on the plate is at an angle of 30°-60° with the length of the plate. The corrugations on the same corrugated plate are parallel to each other; the corrugations of two adjacent plates are crossed. When the fluid flows in this part, it moves upward and downward, which is helpful for the coalescence, buoyancy, or settling of the dispersed phase droplets, which greatly improves the processing capacity and separation efficiency. Coupled with the orderly arrangement of the packing, the solid phase particles contained in the material can be discharged through the corrugated bottom of the packing, so the anti-blocking performance is good and the operation flexibility is large.
Plastic structured packing has the advantages of thin wall, lightweight, large void, corrosion resistance, lightweight, large flux, long life, pressure drop, easy filling, easy replacement, high specific surface area, low bulk density, strong hydrochloric acid, and alkali resistance, With the characteristics of large operating flexibility and insignificant amplification effect, it can be applied to corrosive substances such as strong acid.
Structured packaging has two slants, "X" and "Y". The "Y" type packing, with an inclination of approximately 45º to the horizontal axis, is the most widely used packing. They offer higher filtration efficiency than the "X" type but at the cost of higher pressure drop/lower capacity. The "X" type packing has an inclination of 60° to the horizontal axis and is suitable for high volume and low-pressure drop applications.
