Mass transfer plastic structured packings are formed by welding profiled plastic foils to each other.

Uniform liquid distribution throughout the packing structure The contoured foils and the structures achieved by the foils slanting against each other (channel slanting) achieve a uniform liquid distribution throughout the packing, suitable for low to very high liquid loads.

The high mass transfer rate of the profiled foils and the wavy profile (internal structure) of the individual foils ensure continuous and thorough mixing of gases and liquids. This constant renewal of the gas/liquid boundary results in high mass transfer rates.

This design proved to be more effective than random packing. Tests have shown that structured packing achieves significantly higher throughput and lower pressure drop at the same level of mass transfer performance.

The "X" type packing has an inclination of 60° to the horizontal axis and is suitable for high volume and low pressure drop applications.
