Raschig ring packing was developed by F.Rasching in 1914. It is the first random packing with fixed geometry to be invented. Its shape is simple, and its height is equal to its diameter. Large-sized Raschig rings (above 100mm) are generally filled with whole building, while Raschig rings below 75mm are generally filled with random piles. The material of Raschig ring packing is divided into: metal, ceramic, plastic, etc.
