To support the ankle, aid in foot drop cord tightness and to support the foot in a proper position. Promotes dorsiflexion movement and extension between the ankle and foot
Lightweight materials with polypropylene plastic and the shape of "L" to provide rigidity
Attach to the calf with a strap, and are made to fit inside accommodative shoes
Thinner footplate that may be trimmed with a pair of ordinary scissors
A heat gun may be used to further form the splint If desired. The low arch and open heel give this splint a streamlined profile that fits easily into any shoe.
The Brace On Swedish AFO features an open heel and lower calf section for premium comfort.
Made to provide static dorsiflexion, along with lateral stability.
Thanks to its design it allows elasticity at the Achilles heel level, permitting plantar flexion or dorsal flexion whilst walking, preventing the foot from falling, especially in the balancing stage, and maintaining the foot at 90º.
The orthosis allows small adaptations and modifications, applying heat by way of a hot air pistol.
Solid AFO Drop Foot Brace for Ankle Mobility Aid for Dorsiflexion Movement, Medical Aid for Men and Women AFO is designed to provide increased dorsiflexion assist and greater medial-lateral control during ambulation for those patients suffering from drop foot. The Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO) splint provides static dorsiflexion assistance and lateral stability for the foot-ankle area.

Indications:

In general, patients affected by dorsal flexion limitation of the foot. Hemiplegia through vascular-cerebral accidents (ictus), flaccid palsy sequelas. Retraction of the Achilles heel in infantile cerebral palsy. External popliteal sciatic nerve lesions. This orthosis is not for use in patents with varus or valgus deviations of the rear foot, and spastic palsy.
