The role of sealing

① Improve machine efficiency and reduce energy consumption

a. Reduce internal leakage, external leakage and penetration of the machine, and improve the volumetric efficiency of the machine.

b. Reduce friction loss and improve the mechanical efficiency of the machine.For example, changing the double-end seal to a single-end seal, changing the unbalanced type to a balanced type, or closing one end of the double-support bottom-reducing pump to reduce the seal can reduce friction losses and improve mechanical efficiency.

c. Change the sealing method to improve the efficiency of the machine or unit.For example, the canned pump is replaced with a mechanical seal pump to improve motor efficiency; a magnetic transmission pump is used to improve machine efficiency.

d. Change the auxiliary system to reduce energy consumption and improve unit efficiency.For example, the self-flushing of the hot oil pump is changed to small impeller circulation flushing; the double-end seal is changed to a single-end seal to save energy consumption of the oil sealing auxiliary system.

② Save raw materials.For example, process fluid recovery, reducing or eliminating the loss of power steam and process fluid, reducing seal oil loss, etc.

③Improve machine reliability.For example, the leakage and life of the shaft seal determine the reliability of the shaft seal and the machine.

④Safety and environmental protection.
