Marine Hatch covers have mainly been divided into three categories: container lifting type hatch covers, bulk carrier side shift-type hatch covers, general cargo ship folding type hatch covers. Among them, the folding hatch cover can also be connected with the bulk carrier hatch cover, lifting off the hatch cover can also be used for general cargo ships. If overtime space is limited, sliding hatch covers (mostly along the ship's longitudinal) can also be installed in a stacked style, that is, two or more hatch covers can be hydraulically stacked together and then moved along the hatch according to actual needs.
1. Lifting hatch covers are usually used on container ships to cover the open decks on which containers can be placed. It is used in general cargo ships, the lifting type hatch cover can be used to separate the vertical direction of the cargo. In such cases, the hatch cover may be used as a double deck. Lifting type hatch cover can be divided into two forms: single plate type hatch cover and multi-plate type hatch cover.
2. Folding hatch cover is important for bulk carriers, multi-purpose ships, folding hatch cover is divided into two groups: high folding hatch cover and low folding hatch cover. A low folding hatch cover is usually used when the folding height is limited and the required folding length is greater than that required for a high folding hatch cover. The sealing of hatch cover and hatch enclosure inspection is generally achieved by a rubber sealing strip. The rubber sealing strip is fixed on the hatch cover and pressed tightly with the hatch coaming to seal. The cover plates are similar to each other.
3. Side moving hatch cover is mainly used for bulk carriers, its operation is to move the hatch cover to both sides of the ship to empty the cargo compartment. The operation machinery can be guide rail, gear or chain transmission, the basic setting mode is: single cover type, the hatch cover is on the side of the hatch; Double cover type, the hatch covers are on opposite sides of the hatch. The hatch cover can be partially opened to maintain air circulation and prevent rainwater from flooding in. It is also possible to install the aft side shifting hatch cover, which can be moved in the captain's direction
