Gearbox
Gearboxes have a wide range of applications, such as in wind turbines. Gearboxes are an important mechanical component that is widely used in wind turbines. Its main function is to transfer the power generated by the wind wheel under the action of wind to the generator and make it get the corresponding speed.
Generally, the rotation speed of the wind wheel is very low, far less than the rotation speed required by the generator to generate electricity. It must be realized by the speed increasing effect of the gear pair of the gear box, so the gear box is also called the speed increasing box.
Bearing life of Gearbox
Statistics show that about 50% of wind power gearbox failures are still related to the selection, manufacture, lubrication or use of bearings. At present, due to lagging technical conditions and other reasons, many of the core components of domestic units above the megawatt level, such as motors, gearboxes, blades, electronic control equipment and yaw systems, are imported and used in the gears of these large wind turbines. Box bearings, yaw bearings, pitch bearings and spindle bearings are all imported. Therefore, a more accurate bearing life calculation method is particularly important for the design of wind power gearboxes.
Due to the high reliability required for the bearing, the service life of the bearing should usually be no less than 130,000 hours. However, due to too many factors affecting bearing fatigue life, the bearing fatigue life theory still needs to be continuously improved. There is no unified calculation method for bearing life theory at home and abroad that is accepted by all industries.
Factors such as the operating temperature of the bearing, the viscosity and cleanliness of the lubricating oil, and the speed have a great influence on the life of the bearing. When the operating state becomes worse (temperature rise, lower speed, and more pollutants), the bearing life may be greatly reduced. In-depth analysis of various factors affecting the bearing life of wind power gearboxes and researching out a more accurate calculation method for bearing life is the top priority of the domestic bearing industry and even the wind power industry.
