Taking the pretreatment of molten iron for torpedo mixed iron tankers as an example, during the pretreatment of molten iron, the pretreatment agent is sprayed into the molten iron through a spray gun with a carrier gas (nitrogen or air). In order to improve the pretreatment efficiency, the stirring gas is sprayed into the molten iron through the nozzle, or the molten iron is stirred with a stirrer, so that the pretreatment agent and the molten iron are fully mixed, and the reaction process is accelerated and the reaction is fully completed.
In the desilication treatment, iron oxide series (FeO) pretreatment agent is used, generally rolled iron scale or iron ore is used as the oxygen source in the pretreatment process, and lime (CaO) is used to adjust the basicity of the slag. During dephosphorization treatment, lime-based (CaO-CaF2-FeO) or soda ash-based (Na2CO3) pretreatment agents are generally used. In the desulfurization treatment, lime-based (CaO-CaF2 and CaC2) are used. Various pretreatment agents have a strong erosive effect on refractory materials, especially among soda ash pretreatment agents, Na2O has good dephosphorization and desulfurization effects, but its melting point is very low (825 ℃), The erosion effect of refractory materials is very intense. Na2O is also a strong oxidizing agent that can oxidize graphite and silicon carbide.
When lime-based pretreatment agent is used, lime (CaO), fluorite (CaF2) and iron oxide (Fe2O3) are mixed together. Iron oxide and fluorite have a strong erosive effect on refractory materials, but their erosive effect is stronger than Na2O is light. In addition, due to the addition of lime during the treatment process, the basicity of the slag changes greatly, from acidic slag to alkaline slag, and the refractory material is eroded by both acidic and alkaline slag.
In the process of molten iron pretreatment, the erosion damage of refractory materials is mainly as follows:
Strong scour and wear effect of high temperature molten iron and slag.
Chemical attack of various pretreatment agents.
Penetration and erosion of slag.
Temperature sudden change caused by intermittent operation.
Therefore, the requirements for refractories for molten iron pretreatment are:
High temperature strength, wear resistance.
Resistant to various pretreatment agents.
The corrosion resistance of slag is good.
Good thermal shock resistance, no cracking and peeling off.
It is convenient for on-site application and construction, and has less environmental pollution.
