Shrinkage although liquid silicone rubber does not shrink in the process of injection molding, due to its high coefficient of thermal expansion, it usually shrinks by 2% - 3% after film removal and cooling. The exact shrinkage data mainly depends on the material formula, but from the processing point of view, if the designer considers some factors that affect the shrinkage in advance when he conceives, the final shrinkage situation will change. These factors mainly include the processing temperature, the temperature of material film removal, the cavity pressure, etc. In addition, the position of the injection port should be considered, because usually the shrinkage of the material in the flow direction is more obvious than that in the vertical direction. In addition, the size of components is also an influence factor. Generally speaking, the thicker the components are, the smaller the shrinkage is. If secondary vulcanization is required in practical application, an additional 0.5% - 0.7% shrinkage should be considered.
