Safety concerns:
Over - heating Risk: The heating mechanism in the battery pack is designed to operate within a specific temperature range. Pressure Build - up: Excessive heat can cause the battery to swell. As the temperature rises, the internal pressure of the battery increases due to the expansion of the electrolyte and the chemical reactions occurring at a faster rate. Swelling not only indicates a potential safety hazard but can also damage the device in which the battery is installed. In severe cases, the battery may leak its electrolyte. The electrolyte in 18650 lithium - ion batteries is often flammable and corrosive. If it leaks, it can cause damage to surrounding components and pose a fire and chemical burn risk.
