In addition to cost savings, maintenance and reliability are arguably even more important arguments for switching to the high-quality and reliable LED luminaires of Yourlight. When a crane stands idle at night due to the lack of light, it is unproductive and this really costs a lot of money. Due to vibrations of various frequencies during operations, it often happens that vulnerable gas discharge light sources break before they reach the end of their life time. In such cases, these must be replaced which cost money (labor costs) and it is a nuisance. On (harbor) cranes, it is quite a hassle to replace light sources in bad weather and often at high altitudes. On many cranes, the luminaires are hard to reach. Apart from the costs of renting a high rise platform, the labor costs have to be taken into consideration. Luminaires on (harbor) cranes area are often difficult to open for changing a light source. Screws are ofter hard to unlock due to corrosion. This is particularly the case with harbor cranes that are located near the sea and have to deal with salty conditions.
