Wireless products exported to Japan (Bluetooth products, mobile phones, WiFi routers, drones, etc.) need to be telec certified, which is a mandatory product certification in Japan. The certification body is the registered certification body recognized by MIC in the designated radio equipment range. Telec (Telecom Engineering Center) is the main registered certification body for Japanese radio equipment conformity certification. Telec is also called MIC certification in Japan. Telec is one of the designated certification agencies of MIC, so it is collectively called Telec certification. If it is a non-wireless product, PSE certification is required.

What is Japanese MIC certification?

MIC is a certification issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, MIC for short) of Japan and based on the Electric Communications Business Law.

Telec certification types

Telec certification includes test certification and type certification.

Test certification is to verify each equipment unit, and this certification is only valid for each verified equipment unit; type certification refers to the verification of samples of a batch of equipment with the same design and manufacture. This certification is valid for the batch of equipment, but if the design or manufacture of the equipment changes, the equipment will need to be re-certified.

In summary, both JATE and TELEC are only certification agencies recognized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan. It is obviously inappropriate and wrong to call Japan's technical benchmark suitability certification and technical benchmark suitability recognition JATE or TELEC certification. Just like China's CCC certification, CQC (China Quality Certification Center can issue CCC certification in certain aspects, but we still call it CCC certification according to the official name, and few people call it CQC certification.
