EU Portable Energy Storage Certification(LVD 2014/35/EU, EN IEC 62368)
Some EU Portable Energy Storage Certification experimental methods:
Overcharging of rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack is charged only to withstand any single fault condition that may occur in the charging circuit and can cause the battery pack to overcharge. To minimize the test time, select the fault that causes the most unfavorable overcharge condition. The battery pack was then charged for a single cycle of 7h under simulated fault conditions.
Excessive discharge. The battery pack is subjected to rapid discharge by opening or short-circuiting (one component at a time) any current-limiting or voltage-limiting component in the load circuit of the battery pack under test. Accidental charging of non-rechargeable battery packs. The battery pack is charged only under the condition of withstanding any single component failure that may occur in the charging circuit and can cause the battery pack to charge unexpectedly. To minimize the test time, select the fault that causes the maximum charging current. The battery pack was then charged for a single cycle of 7h under simulated fault conditions.
If there is more than one cell in the battery pack, all cells shall be tested as a unit.
