GEMS is the abbreviation of Australia's minimum energy efficiency standard requirements specially formulated to reduce the greenhouse effect. It is managed by Australia's Department of Industry and Scientific Development and is mainly responsible for the implementation of products required by GEMS standards, as well as supervision and inspection.

The products applied for mainly include incandescent lamps, double-ended fluorescent lamps, self-ballasted lamps, CFLs, power adapters, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, dryers, etc.
