Certification introduction
The UAE TRA is the agency that regulates radio and telecommunications communications. The applicant for certification needs to be a local company or a foreign company, but the applicant must be registered with TRA to supply in the UAE. Regulatory updates
The UAE regulatory body, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), issued a notification on June 17, 2020, of a new labeling requirement for TRA certified products: the TRA Declaration of Conformity Card (Type Approval Scheme Conformity Mark).
The change will affect all equipment to be imported into the UAE, and equipment already on the market will not need to be changed.
Example of TRA Declaration of Conformity Card:
- Products should contain the product declaration card specified above.
- Labels can be marked in black and white.
- The QR code should contain the basic information shown in the middle box.
- TA RTTE refers to the type approval certificate number.
- Type refers to the device type, such as mobile phones, tablets, etc.
