What is Food-grade light Calcium Carbonate?

• Heavy Calcium Carbonate (GCC): Extracted and processed from natural limestone or marble deposits through grinding and milling. It is a naturally occurring mineral that is mechanically processed to form powdered calcium carbonate.

• Light Calcium Carbonate: Has a much smaller particle size (typically 0.02 to 0.1 microns) and a lighter bulk density. Its fine texture allows it to blend seamlessly into food products without affecting texture or taste.

• Heavy Calcium Carbonate: Features larger particles (1 to 10 microns) and a higher bulk density, making it heavier and coarser compared to light calcium carbonate.

• Light Calcium Carbonate: Produced in a controlled environment, light calcium carbonate tends to be of higher purity, with fewer contaminants. This makes it more suitable for applications requiring strict quality standards, such as in food supplements and pharmaceuticals.
