Product Introduction
Silicone oil fan clutch uses silicone oil as the medium and uses the shear viscosity of silicone oil to transmit torque. The fan speed is designed to ensure that the engine does not overheat under the worst operating conditions. Therefore, during normal driving of the vehicle, the fan speed should be controlled within an appropriate range to reduce noise and improve engine economy. For engine-driven fans, fan clutches are usually used to control their speed. Viscous fluid (silicone oil) is sealed inside the clutch, which transmits torque by its shear viscosity. A bimetallic strip is installed in front of the fan to sense the temperature of the air passing through the radiator, thereby controlling the amount of silicone oil in the fan working chamber. Only when necessary can the torque be transmitted to rotate the fan. In the early stage, there was only a switch-type silicone oil fan clutch that cut off and connected the rotational driving force at high and low temperatures. As the vehicle's requirements for air volume and noise characteristics change, the use of a more sophisticated temperature-speed five-level control involute silicone oil fan clutch is the future development direction.

Function of Silicone Oil Fan Clutch
During the driving process of the car, the thermal condition of the engine is also changing due to changes in environmental conditions and operating conditions. Therefore, it is very important to adjust the cooling intensity of the engine at any time according to its thermal condition. Installing a silicone oil fan clutch between the fan pulley and the cooling fan is one of the methods to achieve this adjustment.
