It is easy to distinguish the split caliper from the integrated caliper. The split caliper will be above the caliper, and you can see the splicing line. The integrated caliper will not have this splicing line. What is the difference in specific use? In extreme cases, including high temperature, the split caliper will expand outward. This reduces the braking force. The strength and material of the integrated caliper also depend on. The expansion and contraction of high-strength heat expansion and cold contraction is small. The higher the strength, the greater the braking force, and the less it will deform in a harsh environment.
Integrated calipers: the calipers are processed and manufactured as a whole, and the overall CNC cutting requires high material performance. If the rigidity of the calipers is insufficient, the probability of calipers deformation is high when braking vigorously, resulting in sharp reduction of braking force. The advantage is that the weight is lighter than the split calipers.
Split caliper: the two sides of the caliper are processed separately and CNC cut. The back of the caliper is strengthened and fixed with several bolts, which can restrain the deformation of the caliper body during strong braking. Compared with the integrated caliper, the weight is a little heavier.
The cost of one-piece forged caliper is several times higher than that of split caliper, and the manufacturing process is very complex, which is the main reason for its high price. The second is the piston. The material of the piston is divided into many kinds, some are steel, some are forged aluminum alloy, and the top pistons are titanium alloy. The titanium alloy piston used in the competition will also have many heat dissipation holes, and there is no dust-proof rubber pad. It needs regular maintenance to remove the brake ash.
The brake caliper is usually driven for 60000-80000 km. It is recommended to replace the brake pad:
1. The brake device usually has two forms: "drum brake" and "disc brake". Except that few small cars still use drum brake (such as polo and fit rear brake system), most models on the market are using disc brake. Therefore, this paper only describes the disc brake;
2. The principle of disc brake (commonly known as "disc brake") is to use brake calipers to control two brake pads and clamp the brake discs on the wheels. Through friction braking, the brake pads become thinner and thinner;
3. The thickness of a brand-new brake pad is generally about 1.5cm. There is a raised mark at both ends of the brake pad, about 3mm. If the thickness of the brake pad is at the same level with this mark, it should be replaced immediately. If not replaced in time, the brake disc will be seriously worn.
