Brief Introduction:
PHB-3000a applies up to a 3000kgf load on a 10mm ball, making a lasting impression, which is available for re-reading at any time. A by-pass valve is automatically activated at the calibrated load, eliminating the chance of overloading.
The impression is then read and recorded by the operator using a Brinell microscope or measurement software.
This portable Brinell hardness tester meets all international standards for Brinell testing including ASTM E-110, British Standard #240, Pt.2, Sect.1 and JIS Standards, and is calibrated to 1/2 of 1% of load on equipment traceable to NIST Standards.
PHB-3000a designed to make impressions that are used to measure the hardness of a metal. A universally recognized tester, the portable Brinell has a number of advantages.
1, On-site Testing - used in workshop, simple operation, easy carrying, and testing on hardness of large and cylindrical parts.
2, Permanence - Impression can be checked and rechecked at any time.
3, Accuracy - Calibrated accurate to 1/2 of 1% of load. Can be used for higher loads up to 3000kgf. Breaks through surface heat treatment to get to the core of the material.
4, High Reliability - PHB-3000a chain hydraulic Brinell hardness tester follows the Brinell hardness test method completely, the same as desk testers, reflecting the actual mechanical property of material or parts.
5, Durability - Portable Brinell testers have been working for over 20 years.
6, Versatility - Can be used in virtually any position: right side up, upside down or sideways. Take the tester to the metal, not the metal to the tester.
Application of PHB-3000a:
Used for large cylinders it fits onto a standard test head and wraps around specimens that are too big for regular tester. High strength chrome/molybdenum steel arms hold the chain to the test head and allow it to stay rigid while the chain takes the full thrust of the load.
Operation Guide:
Install the testing head into the chain adapter, when testing, using the chain to fix the tester on the surface of the work piece. And then handle the pressure lever to apply test force.
The testing head is a small hydraulic system in which a release valve is used to control the test force. When the test force rises 3000kgf, the release valve will open and pressure will fall down, and it needs to apply the test force repeatedly 3-4 times to make the needle of the pressure gauge point to 3000kgf for 3-4 times.
Thus it is equivalent to the test condition of Brinell hardness testing method to hold 3000kgf test force with 10mm ball for 10-15 seconds, which complies with ASTM E110.
