What is "Roots Blower"?
Roots blower pump is a positive displacement rotary lobe pump, which works by pumping fluid with a pair of meshing lobes, which is different from a set of stretch gears. Then, the fluid is trapped in the bladder around the lobes and taken from the intake side to the exhaust.
Why is the rotary blade blower called "Roots blower"?
The forward rotating blower was designed by the brothers Francis and Philander Roots in the 1850s. Later in 1860, the brothers applied for a patent, and the name of Roots became the name of the design.
What is the basic principle of "Roots Blower"?
The principle of Roots blower includes the following: The process starts with air flowing from the air inlet into the component chamber. The timed rotation of the rotor against the chamber wall creates the so-called "air flow direction." At this time, atmospheric pressure still exists in these chambers.
Once the first lobe reaches the pressure side through the opening, the system pressure is adjusted. This is called constant velocity compression. The inside of the rotor is sealed to each other to prevent pressure changes.
How does "Roots Blower" work?
Roots blowers operate on the principle of constant velocity compression (also called external compression). The pressure increase is achieved by delivering gaseous media (such as atmosphere) intermittently into the system.
By forcing the medium from atmospheric conditions into a system with a given resistance (eg water column, distribution network), a corresponding pressure increase can be achieved. Roots blowers will operate at a controlled output level to overcome this resistance.
