Description

The tee is mainly used to change the direction of the fluid and is used at the branch pipe of the main pipeline. Tee is a kind of chemical pipe fitting with three ports, i.e. one inlet and two outlets, or two inlets and one outlet. There are T-shaped and Y-shaped, equal diameter nozzles and reducer nozzles, which are used for the three same or different pipeline convergence. Socket welding tee is a kind of pipe connection mode that the tee is inserted into the embedded wall of the pipe for welding. Relative to butt welding, socket welding is usually used for small diameter pipes of 2 "and below.

Socket welding adopts fillet weld. When high structural strength requirements and high leakage risk are considered in design, socket welded joint is a better choice.The fatigue strength of socket welded joint is lower than that of butt welded joint because of the sharp change of fillet weld and geometry. However, socket welded joints are still superior to other mechanical joints.

Characteristics 

1. It is used to transport inflammable medium without leakage, toxic or expensive medium and steam from 300PSI to 600psi.

2. Only connect with ASME pipe, with the same caliber.

3. It can be used for long-term operation of pipeline and provide better flow characteristics.

4. Its material is ASTM material and its manufacturing standard is ASME B16.11. B16.11 covers pressure, temperature ratings, dimensions, tolerances, identification and material requirements. Common materials are ASTM A105, A182 or A350.

5. There are three pressure classes for socket welded pipe fittings: class3000, 6000 and 9000.

Application

4,  In industry, the pressure of this kind of pipe fittings is higher, which can reach 600 kg. In life, the pressure of water pipes is lower, generally 16 kg.

5,  Socket welding is to extend the pipe into the valve body for welding, mostly used for the welding of carbon steel pipe and stainless steel pipe below 2 ".

6,  Butt welding is to use resistance heat to weld two workpieces along the whole end face at the same time, which is widely used in the welding of workpieces.
