Description

1,  Stainless steel butt welding elbow is a steel hot pressed or forged elbow. Its connection form is to directly butt weld the elbow with the steel pipe.

(1).According to its curvature radius, butt welding elbow can be divided into long radius butt welding elbow and short radius butt welding elbow;

(2).According to the pressure rating, there are about 17 kinds, which are the same as the American pipe standard, of which the most commonly used are STD and XS;

(3).According to the angle of elbow, there are 45 degree butt welding elbow, 90 degree butt welding elbow, 180 degree butt welding elbow and other elbows with different angles.

2,  Butt welding elbow can be divided into long radius butt welding elbow and short radius butt welding elbow according to its curvature radius.

(1).The radius of curvature of the long radius butt welding elbow is equal to 1.5 times the outer diameter of the pipe, that is, r = 1.5D.

(2).The radius of curvature of the short radius butt welded elbow is equal to the outer diameter of the pipe, i.e. r = 1D.

(3).Where D is the diameter of butt welding elbow and R is the radius of curvature. If there is no special description, 1.5D elbow is generally selected.

3,  The short radius elbow is much shorter than the long radius elbow, and the bending radius of the elbow is very short.

(1).Long radius elbow is the most commonly used, and it is also the long radius by default.

(2).The long radius elbow will be used in places with high pressure or high flow rate. If the resistance of solid conveying pipeline is strict, the elbow with larger radius will be used.

(3).Short radius is usually used in low-pressure fluid or where elbows are limited. Long radius elbows are preferred if there are no conditions or are not specified in the contract.

4,  Hot pressed elbow forming process has the characteristics of beautiful appearance, uniform wall thickness and continuous operation, which is suitable for mass production.

5,  Therefore, it has become the main forming method of stainless steel butt welded short radius elbow, and also applied in the forming of some specifications of high-pressure seamless elbow.

6,  The heating mode of forming process includes medium frequency or high frequency induction heating, flame heating and reflection furnace heating. The heating mode depends on the requirements of forming products and energy conditions.

7,  Stamping forming is the first forming process applied to mass production of high pressure seamless elbow, which has been replaced by hot pressing or other forming processes in the production of commonly used elbow

Application

1, Butt welding elbow is mainly used to connect two sections of pipes with different end radius or to change the diameter of pipes.

2, The manufacturing process of high-pressure elbow is to weld a multi edge ring shell with polygonal cross-section or a multi edge fan-shaped shell closed at both ends.

3, After the inner part is filled with pressure medium, internal pressure is applied.

4, Under the internal pressure, the cross-section changes from polygon to circle gradually, and finally becomes a circular ring shell.
