The TUSB522Pis designedto overcomechannelloss due to inter-symbolinterferenceand crosstalkwhen5GbpsUSB3.1GEN1signalstravelacrossa PCBor cable.The dualchannelarchitectureis a one-chip,low-powersolution,extendingthe possiblechannellengthfor transmitand receivedatapathsin an application.For aHostapplication,this enablesthe systemto passbothtransmittercomplianceand receiverjitter tolerancetests.The re-driverrecoversincomingdataby applyingequalizationthat compensatesfor channelloss,and drivesoutsignalswith a highdifferentialvoltage.Eachchannelhas a receiverequalizerwith selectablegainsettings.Theequalizationshouldbe set basedon the amountof insertionlossin channel1 or 2 beforethe TUSB522Preceivers.Likewise,the outputdriverssupportconfigurationof De-Emphasis.Independentequalizationand de-emphasiscontrolfor eachchannelcan be set usingEQ1/2and DE1/2pins.TheTUSB522Padvancedstatemachinemakesit transparentto hostsanddevices.Afterpowerup, theTUSB522Pperiodicallyperformsreceiverdetectionon the TX pairs.If it detectsa USB3.1GEN1receiver,theRX terminationis enabled,and the TUSB522Pis readyto re-drive.The deviceultra-low-powerarchitectureoperatesat a 3.3-Vpowersupplyand achievesEnhancedperformance.The automaticLFPSDe-Emphasiscontrolfurtherenablesthe systemto be USB3.1compliant
