MEM medium (Minimum Essential Medium), also known as minimum essential medium, minimum essential medium, or low-volume Eagle medium, was developed by Harry Eagle on the basis of Eagle Basic Medium (BEM). Product ingredients:
MEM medium only contains 12 kinds of essential amino acids, glutamine, and 8 kinds of vitamins. It has simple components and is mainly used for the culture of adherent cells. It can also be used for other types of cell culture after the formula is modified.
L-glutamine (Glutamine) is an essential nutrient element in cell culture, but it is unstable in solution and will spontaneously degrade. The medium without L-glutamine can be adjusted arbitrarily according to research needs. - The amount of glutamine, adding fresh L-glutamine or its substitutes is more conducive to the growth of cells when using.
NEAA (non-essential amino acid) is based on the addition of L-alanine, L-glutamic acid, L-asparagine, L-aspartic acid, L-proline on the basis of MEM medium Amino acid, L-serine, and glycine 7 kinds of NEAA, which can reduce the side effects of non-essential amino acids produced by cells themselves during cell culture, and effectively promote cell proliferation and metabolism.
Glucose can freely adjust the concentration of glucose according to research needs, which is convenient and quick. High-glucose medium is widely used in fast-growing, low-adhesion cells, myeloma cells of hybridomas, cloned cells, transformed cells by DNA transfection, various primary virus host cells, single cell culture, and vaccine production.
