In terms of physical properties, injection molded products have unique characteristics. Due to being mainly made of plastic materials with a lower density than metals and ceramics, they are usually lightweight. In the field of consumer electronics, for example, mobile phones and tablets with plastic casings are lighter than their metal-cased counterparts, facilitating handheld operation and portability for users and reducing the burden of long-term use. Many plastic materials possess excellent thermal insulation and electrical insulation properties, which are fully demonstrated in injection molded products. In electrical equipment, the injection molded plastic casing can effectively prevent internal heat from conducting outward and protect users from being scalded. Additionally, the mechanical properties of injection molded products can vary widely. By choosing different types of plastics like polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, etc., and adding different additives such as glass fiber and carbon fiber as reinforcing materials, products with different strengths, hardnesses, toughnesses, and impact resistances can be obtained. For example, polyamide injection molded products with glass fiber added have high strength and hardness and are suitable for manufacturing parts around car engines, while thermoplastic elastomer injection molded products with good toughness are ideal for making products like children's toys that need to withstand impacts.
