The valve is a pilot-controlled four-way valve, actuated by a proportional solenoid valve. When the solenoid valve is not actuated, the main control spool is in the center position by means of a centering spring. When the solenoid valve is energized, e.g. by controlling magnet “b”, the control spool can be moved to the right, the control oil enters the pressure chamber through the pilot valve and deflects the main control spool proportionally to the electrical input signal, thus realizing the control of the direction and size of the volume flow. When the magnet is turned off, the control spool and main control spool return to the center position. The flow rate depends on the switching position from P to A and B to T or P to B and A to T (R). The valve is also available with an optional manual operating handle that allows the control spool to be moved without energizing the solenoid, but be aware that accidental triggering of the manual override may result in uncontrolled machine movement. In addition, due to the design principle, the valve is prone to internal leakage, which increases the service life.
