Structural Cable Golfan Coated Open Spiral Strand for Construction Bridge
Cables for structural applications with high tensile strength are used in suspended structures, bridges, pedestrian bridges, stay cables for flares and radio transmission towers etc. The flexibility application of the rope offers several architectural solutions and relief in building structures, metal structures and structural reinforcement. The better ropes that for breaking strength and stretch under load, for these applications are locked coil cable and open spiral strand compared with flexible ropes normally used for lifting.
SPIRAL STRANDS
An assembly of a minimum of two layers of wires laid helically over a central wire strand an element of rope normally consisting of an assembly of wires of appropriate shape and dimensions laid helically in the same or opposite direction in one or more layers around a center
• Spiral strands rope is more stiffer than the corresponding rope stranded having less wires.
• Spiral strands rope has lower elongation in inelastic field (wires adjustment in the wire rope).
• Spiral strands rope has greater tensile strength and metal section for a given diameter than a wire rope.
• Spiral strands rope has a higher elastic modulus (lower elongation under load) of wire ropes.
• Spiral strands rope cannot bent over thimbles and connected with connected wire rope clips.

a. Purpose: For which rope will be used.
b. Size: Diameter of the rope in millimeter or inches
c. Construction: Number of strands, number of wires per strand and type of strand construction.
d. Type of Core: Fiber core( FC), independent wire rope core(IWRC) or independent wire strand core(IWSC).
e. Lay: Right regular lay, left regular lay, right lang lay, left lang lay.
f. Coating: Bright(ungalvanized), galvanized or stainless, PVC or Grease.
g. Grade of wire: Tensile strength of wires.
h. Breaking Load: Minimum or calculated breaking load in tones or pounds.
i. Lubrication: Whether lubrication is desired or not, and required lubricant.
j. Length: Length of wire rope.
k. Packing: In coils wrapped with oil paper and hessian(orp.p) cloth, or on wooden reels.
l. Quantity: By number of coils or reels, by length or weight.
m. Remarks: Shipping marks and any other special requirement.
