An HLN coolant heater integrates seamlessly into the engine coolant loop, providing an independent heating source. Within the HLN coolant heater system, the metering pump connects to the existing fuel tank, supplies diesel fuel to the heater for combustion. The circulation pump draws engine coolant into the heater. The heater heats up the coolant, and the coolant continues to warm up the engine block to avoid cold start, or keep the engine operating in a desired temperature. As a result, engine wear is reduced, and the vehicle cabin can be warm without idling the engine.
 
HLN focuses on continuously improving the heater quality and pushing it to the limit. The company finished a heater high attitude test above 5,000 meters on the Tibetan Plateau. Both air heaters and coolant heaters went through the tests. A total of five testes points were taken, and at a highest elevation of 5,235 meters. (The five test points were at 2,780m, 3,660m, 4,540m, 4,780m, and 5,235m.) At all test points, both the air heaters and coolant heaters can ignite and operate smoothly. The high elevation test is only one of a serious of tests that HLN performs on its heaters to guarantee the heaters performance
