       NTC power thermistor is a device for suppressing inrush current to an electric circuit. while its resistance remains negligible low during continuous operation. Power NTC thermistor limits surge current by functioning as a power resistor which drops from a high cold resistance to a low hot resistance when heated by the current flowing through it. Thanks to their low resistance in the operating state, Power thermistor have a considerably lower power dissipation than the fixed resistors frequently used for this application.

       The varistor in the intelligent resistor for transformer overvoltage and overcurrent protection plays the role of restraining the voltage, and the thermistor plays the role of limiting the current. The current terminal responds quickly due to the high grid voltage or the wrong input voltage. The varistor keeps the primary voltage of the transformer at about 220V. Due to the thermal coupling effect and the self-heating effect of the thermistor, the resistance value increases significantly. The circuit is disconnected before the varistor burns and bursts to avoid accidents. After the fault, the intelligent resistor reduces the overvoltage to the normal working voltage of the electric meter, and ensures that the electric meter can work and measure normally. After protection, the meter works and measures normally.
