Description:Chinese Ivy is a perennial evergreen climbing shrub.The whole plant can be used as medicine, have effect on rheumatism, and can activate blood and detumescence. The active ingredients of ivy are saponins (comprising hederagenin glycosides, Hederagenin C , alpha and ß-hederin), flavonoids, and fatty acids. Ivy leaf has been traditionally used for colds for its anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic properties and particularly for coughs and chest congestion for its decongestant properties. This has been supported by scientific studies and ivy leaf is now recognized as an effective medicine to treat the inflammation of the respiratory tract.What's more, it has therapeutic effect on traumatic injury, lumbar and leg pain, and rheumatoid arthritis disease.
