Nickel 201 (N02201, 2.4061, N7) wire is a specific form of this commercially pure nickel alloy, offering the same key properties as the bulk material, but tailored for use in wire form. Nickel 201 (N02201/2.4061/N7) is a commercially pure nickel alloy with a minimum nickel content of 99.6%. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in alkaline and neutral environments, making it ideal for use in chemical processing, marine, and aerospace applications. The alloy is highly resistant to caustic soda, seawater, and many acids, while also providing good resistance to stress corrosion cracking. With a high level of formability, Nickel 201 is easily fabricated into various shapes, including sheets, wires, and tubes. It possesses good thermal and electrical conductivity, though it is non-magnetic. It has moderate tensile strength (55-75 ksi) and retains its integrity at elevated temperatures up to 600°C (1112°F).
