Laser welding of plastics is becoming a hot topic in the field of laser welding due to its unique advantages, receiving widespread attention from the industry. It will replace traditional plastic welding methods.
Due to the low absorption rate of lasers in the 800nm-1100nm wavelength range for the vast majority of transparent or colored thermoplastic materials, and the less energy lost through the plastic, lasers in this wavelength range are often chosen. Transmission welding generally adopts lap joints and is fixed by fixtures that can provide a certain clamping force. And the upper and lower layers of materials must meet certain requirements: for the laser used, the upper layer material needs to be able to penetrate the laser to the maximum extent, and the lower layer material needs to be able to absorb the laser to the maximum extent. Laser is projected onto the surface of the lower layer material through the upper layer material. Due to the high absorption rate of the lower layer material towards the laser, the laser is absorbed at the joint surface and generates a large amount of heat. At the same time, heat is transferred from the lower layer material to the upper layer material through thermal conduction, causing the plastic at the joint surface to melt. Under the action of clamping force, it is re aggregated, and after cooling, a weld seam is formed at the joint surface, which is welded together.

5.Greatly reduces the vibration stress and thermal stress generated during the welding process of the product, which can be used for welding easily damaged products and can extend the service life of the product.
6.Can weld many different types of plastic materials together, such as PC and PBT doped with 30% glass fiber.
