Corten (or Cor-Ten to give it's proper name) Steel fire pit bowls are made from at least 3mm thick. Weathering Steel, a strong material that covers itself in an oxidized layer when exposed to the open air, providing further protection from the elements. The process was developed to eliminate the need for painting, and form a stable rust like appearance when exposed to the weather.
These round fire pit bowl have a circular stand which is welded to the base, and there are holes in the base for air flow and drainage. The classic shallow bowl shape adds a simple sophistication to any garden. The coating that gives the aged rustic affect can run off and stain softer absorbent stone.
