The internal support of the nylon membrane gives it added dimensional strength and stability, which prevents it from cracking, tearing, curling, and breaking when subjected to further agressive batch processing or sample handling. Nylon membrane disc filters are naturally hydrophilic and typically used for medical/clinical applications, HPLC, microbiology analysis and general filtration.
