Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film undergoes a production process that involves:

1. Selecting appropriate polypropylene resin and pretreating it through processes such as drying and filtration.

2. The resin is then melted and extruded into a film, which is stretched biaxially to improve its strength and toughness.

3. The stretched film is then heat treated to stabilize its size and properties before being cooled and winded into rolls for storage

    and transportation.

 

During production, various process parameters such as extrusion temperature, stretching speed, heat setting temperature, and time must be

controlled to ensure product quality.

 

The main difference between BOPP and cast polypropylene (CPP) film lies in their production processes and performance characteristics.

BOPP film is known for its high tensile strength, elasticity, impact resistance, and low permeability to air and water vapor, owing to its production process involving bi-axial stretching.

 

On the other hand, CPP film has less molecular orientation as it is not stretched during production, making it more suitable for applications that require flexibility and transparency, such as food wrapping and agricultural films.

 

Matte BOPP film is highly versatile and is used for applications such as packaging, printing, home decoration, automotive interior, electronic products, and signage. Its ability to reduce glossiness, increase texture, and improve the appearance and value of products is highly valued.
