Function failures of the fiber optic transceiver include transmitter failure and receiver failure and problems are concentrated in the following aspects:

1, Optical interface is with pollution and damage, due to pollution and damage of the optical interface, the optical link loss becomes larger, and the optical link is blocked. There are many reason cause pollution and damage:

2, ESD damage, the abbreviation "ESD", is a rising time can be less than 1ns (1 billion nanoseconds) or even hundreds of PS (1ps = 10000 1/100000000 seconds), it is a very fast process; ESD can generate dozens of Kv/m even more intense electromagnetic pulse.
