Strengthen member is very common in fiber optic cable, it can see in both indoor and outdoor fiber cable. It may be positioned in the central of the cable and named central reinforcement, it also can be on both side of the cable and called parallel strength member. It can be single steel wire or stranded steel wire, and it also can be non-metallic like FRP ( fiber glass reinforced plastic ) or Aramid. The strengthen member is able to enhance the tensile strength and crush resistance of the fiber cable and it also can be fixed on the fiber distribution box so that the fiber cable can be fixed in the box better and avoid loose when the box is moved or the cable is pulled.
