Rod Seals are primarily used in pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders and have the task of sealing the incoming and outgoing cylinder rod. Rod seals — The most important seal type used to prevent leakage from inside the cylinder to the outside.The goal is to prevent the escape of the pressurized operating medium from the cylinder. At the same time, it must be protected against external contaminants.Hydraulic cylinder seals are used to seal the opening between various components in the hydraulic cylinder. They are designed to retain hydraulic fluids, exclude solid or liquid contaminants, and maintain hydraulic pressure. These tasks require a variety of different seal designs and performance-enhancing features.
Product Features
The rod seal is the most critical seal on any type of fluid power equipment preventing leakage of fluid from within the cylinder to the outside.Rod seals act as a pressure barrier to keep the operating fluid inside the cylinder. They also provide a thin lubrication film on the piston rod that lubricates the rod seals and wiper seals. The lubricant also inhibits corrosion of the piston rod surface.Rod Seals prevent leakage of hydraulic fluid to the outside of the sealing system. Additionally, Rod Seals help contribute, in combination with a Wiper Seal, to preventing contamination of the environment.
