The BMW iX3 is the first model to be equipped with BMW's fifth-generation eDrive system, which integrates an electric motor, electronic controls, transmission and inverter to increase power density by up to 30% compared to existing BMW BEVs. In terms of motor, the car uses an excitation synchronous motor for the first time, which does not use rare earth elements and reduces its dependence on scarce resources. The rare-earth-free motor is sustainable, with an energy conversion rate of 93% and a lightweight concept that allows a single motor to output up to 286 hp and 400 Nm. The high-voltage battery with anti-collision design is composed of a specially developed single lithium-ion battery to provide surging power for the motor. The battery pack is placed on the bottom of the vehicle, reducing the vehicle's center of gravity by 7.5 cm without affecting the interior space. The state-of-the-art battery management system ensures an efficient charging process and an ideal drive power. It only takes about 45 minutes to charge from 0% to 80% of the battery level under DC fast charging conditions. BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, through which users can grasp various detailed information, such as understanding the status of the vehicle, efficient driving methods, and voice control. At the same time, the innovative infotainment function, consisting of Baidu Car live or Apple CarPlay, provides users with entertainment information and content. Connected Charging digital services can help users stay on top of their battery levels and get information about nearby charging stations, so they can charge efficiently at any time without having to worry about charging issues all the time, making their journeys more secure.
